See what's happening with the One Note Stand this semester!
Behind the Scenes!
Aren't we one gorgeous group? Above are pictures taken before the One Note Stand's Winter Concert: Mission Code Name ONS 1212011. The concert was a huge success for all of us. As the pictures show, we are one unique family who love each other, and love our group. We are ready for the Spring 2012 semester!
This semester, the One Note Stand is proud to welcome 7 new members, Jordan Reece, Xavier Griffin, Kevin Sol, Devon Davis, Bronwyn Stokes, Jarae Rice, and Inga Maleombho.
We have been working hard to learn new music and as always, have had a blast while doing so! This semester ONS took a trip to Meadowkirk, a retreat center and summer camp where music director, Tommy Campbell is employed. Meadowkirk provided us a place to bond, work together as a team, and sing some music out in the beautful fall weather. The pictures above only begin to show off the weekend ONS enjoyed. Pictures from a slightly atypical rehearsal are posted above as well. The rehearsal included instruments, singing while playing Frisbee, and kicking soccer balls, and traveling through Pollard, Melchers, and DuPont Hall while singing. | A Walk of Shame to Remember with The One Note Stand! Come out to our Spring Concert! Wednesday, April 18th 8pm $1 in Dodd Auditorium New 2012-2013 Officers!
We'd like to congratulate our newly elected officers for the 2012-2013 year!

We'd love to have you as a follower! IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR: AUDITION TIME
08.22.2011 Come one, come all to new member auditions!!
When? WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31st, 2011 Where? 209 DuPont Hall What time? 7 - 9:30 PM How does it work? The process is really simple: just show up and fill out the form we give you. We'll then do some warm-ups together and ask you to come in a classroom and sing a cappella ('cause it's how we do, dig?) a verse and a chorus of a song (preferably contemporary) that shows off your range. It's take about 2 minutes, and it's just you and the group, so relax and have fun! Remember we all had to audition so we know how it feels to be in your shoes. Scheduling conflict? If you have a conflict with our audition time, feel free to email us and we can try to work something out. If you don't make it, don't sweat it! Audition again because we take people based on what we're looking for at the time. Maybe we don't need another soprano this semester, but we might need one next semester! Any other questions? PLEASE, don't hesitate to ask a member and/or shoot us an email at umwonenotestand.com@gmail.com. "FANtastic...eh? get it? get it?"
POSTED 04.22.2011 Really and truly, thanks to everyone who came out One Note's Murder Mystery Spring Concert last night! You all were the best crowd we've ever had: swaying cell phone lights, homemade signs, never-ending enthusiasm--you're energy made what we do on stage a whole lot easier!
Didn't make the concert? Check out the photo story here.
Video coverage can also be found at our youtube account or Greatest Hits tab! Also, comments are welcome! "MEET BOB"
POSTED 02.15.2011 More than jazzed to report that One Note has expanded it's musical family once more with the addition of BOB THE BASS. (also known as Robert Ericson) Check out his biography and good looks by clicking here, then perhaps you can meet in person at our next concert...if you're lucky.
"THANKS TO ALL"
POSTED 01.23.2011 Thanks to all who came out to the True Strength Benefit Concert! According to the official money-counters (Bobby and myself, your webmistess), $801 was raised in cash and checks from the crowd! With the 2:1 match the Morawetz family provided, the grand total comes out to be over $2500! All proceeds went to the True Strength-Chris Morawetz foundation helping the endowed campus scholarship, awarded to a student with financial need or a disability, to grow to a whopping $12,500 a year! We were truly blown away by the cause and it's success, none of which would be possible without you, our fans.
THANK YOU! "MARK YOUR CALENDARS, PEOPLE."
POSTED 01.06.2011 After ringing in 2011, christen your calendars with this fun new event! You won't regret it!
Who? One Note Stand & The True Strength Organization What? Good music for a good cause! When? SATURDAY, January 22nd, 2010, 6-10 PM Where? Dodd Auditorium Why? The True Strength organization and the One Note Stand are coming together to raise money for the Chris Morawetz Endowed Scholarship fund at the University of Mary Washington. Over the past two years, True Strength has raised approximately $10,000 for the scholarship through a series of benefit concerts in Fredericksburg and in northern Virginia. The scholarship was established by Chris's parents shortly after Chris passed away in May of 2008 from a rare from of cancer. The scholarship was awarded to UMW students with a disability and/or with financial need in school years 2009-10 and 2010-11. Because it is "endowed", the Chris Morawetz Scholarship will continue to make annual awards of at least $2500 per year to UMW students in the future. The goal of this concert and of future fundraising events is to expand the scholarship, in order to make even larger awards in the future, and to raise awareness of the scholarship's purpose and availability to UMW students. Jonathan Hillyard and Will Spaulding, along with some of their close friends, will again be sharing their musical talents by playing many of the songs loved by Chris himself. For the first time, UMW's own A Cappella group, The One Note Stand, will be sharing the stage with the band. Come out and support both groups as they work towards our long term goal of providing one or more UMW students with full tuition in years to come! "NEW PICTURES"
POSTED 12.1.2010 Thanks for OSACS, you may now peruse pictures from October Open Mic Night and The Underground A Cappella Extravaganza! We're thinking we may put this one on our Christmas card!

POSTED 05.10.2010 Summer has begun and although most of us can't wait to pack up and escape final exams, we dread saying bye to another year of college, and our graduating comrades: Scott Altman (Music Director), Emilie Begin, Mike Hollister, Diana Scott(President) and Katie McGraw. May the real world not be as hard as it's rep, you guys.
"A REQUEST FROM OUR FANBASE..."
POSTED 05.02.2010 A communal request has been put in by fans to publish the group's re-vamped Ke$ha rap. So with great pleasure, and extreme lyrical kudos to Emilie Begin, we present:
